It's siblings 1521 (15.4-inch) and 1721 (17-inch) comes with AMD M690T chipset, Turion 64 X2 chip, and ATI Radeon X1270 graphics.

Urban Artist Mike Ming has designed five different contemporary Special Art Edition designs for Computer giant Dell. In a bid to appeal to children, or add splash a bit of creativity into the boardroom, Dell has come up with designer names for the Laptops which are in the Studio 15 and 17 ranges.

Today's computers consist of around eight main components; some of the advanced computers might have a few more components. What are these eight main components and what are they used for? We will start with beginner level details to get you started.

First is the Power Supply. The power supply is used to provide electricity to all of the components in your computer. It is usually a rectangular box and is usually positioned in one of the corners of the computer. To find it for sure, look to see where the power cable plugs into the back of the computer and you have found the power supply. All major calculation performed by a computer are carried out inside its CPU. It is also responsible for activating and controlling the operations of other units of the system. The faster the CPU can do these calculations and give the correct answers, the faster the computer runs for the user. A fourth component is the RAM (Random Access Memory). RAM is used as momentary working storage for the computer. We have different types of RAM memory with different speed, but it should match with your motherboard so that it can work properly. The more RAM you have in your computer, the better your computer will work.

The fifth component is the Hard drive. This is where you can store everything. Our material on the hard drive includes the operating system (Windows XP, etc), games, and different types of software, etc. over the year the capacity of the hard drive is continuously improving and in the interval of few years its capacity have gone from around 20MB to over 500GB and more. So you can store a lot more information on your computer such as games, pictures, videos, applications, and more.

Sixth component is Cooling fans. Often most computers come with one cooling fan or it might have several. Its help to cool down the heat generated by others components, Such as power supply, the CPU, and some high-end video cards. The work of all of your cooling fans is to get this heat out of the case so that nothing overheats and breaks. While most of the noise you hear coming from a computer can be credited to the cooling fans, remember to be tolerant. The cooling fan is your friend!

A touchscreen BlackBerry device, it’s only fitting that we follow up and give y’all the real lowdown on it! This is going to excite a lot of people, but anger many. Are you ready? The BlackBerry Thunder, as it is codenamed now, (all you "reporting" on it as the Storm are incorrect) will launch in Q3 of this year. It is a full touchscreen BlackBerry — no slide out keyboard — with only 4 physical keys. Those are the send / end phone keys, the BlackBerry menu key, and the back key. Here is the most interesting part, though: it will launch as a worldwide lifetime exclusive on Verizon and Vodafone! We’ve heard the unit will be a hybrid device with CDMA EV-DO Rev. C (for clarification, Rev C., known as UMB is practically dead. If the device will indeed launch with a 4G solution, our bet is on LTE), and GSM HSPA for traveling internationally. Verizon and Vodafone will have the same unit. Currently, the model number is the BlackBerry 9500, though it’s very early and that’s likely to change. This is HUGE for the Verizon lovers. For once they’ll get an exclusive device, but Verizon will have a sales quota for the device and if they don’t meet those numbers, we’ve heard the exclusivity will then dissolve and it’s over. This will be extremely interesting to see play out

Nokia just announced a trio of "Beautiful to use" Nokia handsets with its Nokia 6600 slide, 6600 fold, and 3600 slide. The €250 6600 fold is said to smoothly arc open with the press of a button to reveal a 2.13-inch OLED display sporting 16 million colors. It also features tap commands. When off, a double-tap of the monolithic cover reveals the time, messages and missed calls. A double-tap also snoozes alerts and silences or rejects incoming phone calls. The €275 6600 slide (pictured left) features the same tap technology but bumps the digital camera up from 2 to 3.2 megapixels with a 2.2-inch QVGA display based on LCD tech, presumably. The main idea behind Nokia Morph concept phone is the use of nanotechnology based flexible materials, transparent electronics and self-cleaning surfaces. Many companies have claimed to have sent the very first text message however reports suggest that the honour went to Edward Lantz, an employee at NASA who sent a simple message via his Motorola Beeper using upside down numbers to spell out words. The first commercial SMS message was sent over the Vodafone GSM network in the UK on 3rd December 1992 from Neil Papworth on a personal computer to Richard Jarvis using an Orbitel 901 handset. The message read "Happy Christmas". ‘Hacking’ is a concept known by most of the people who log on to the internet. Hacking is a crime! By simply punching some codes, one can get a copy of the passwords and then in turn misuse the account that belongs to someone else. These spoofs hamper the safety of the internet users. Generally people wanting to explore the possibilities of getting into someone else’s account indulge themselves in these hacking tactics. But this is also a way of misusing the information. People who indulge in these crimes are known as Hackers. Usually the hackers hack the computers of big companies and leak the important information. Hackers normally are not differentiated from the crackers, who are the people who get the unauthorized access to any of the restricted computers. The security of the computers is hampered due to the hacking that takes place. Most of your important information is leaked out due to the hackers. If most of your files are deleted or blocked by the hackers, you cannot access your own PC. This is when we end up saying “My PC has been hacked!”Just as to protect your PC from such cases, you can install the firewall that can help you and protect you from the existing hackers to a certain extent.
I will continue my series on hacking, phishing, viruses and all other online threats, and how to protect yourself. I shall discuss later who ar ethical hackers and how they can be helpful.

Well, things are moving a little slow around the Dojo today. It may be because Heroes came back on last night, and I was busy watching… or because the Red Sox swept the Yankees out of Fenway for the first time in 17 years. Or it may be that I’m still recovering from the shock that 1990 was 17 years ago.

Sony Vaio UX UMPC (not Origami?)

Doesn’t matter what everyone does, Sony likes to do it their way. It seems that they’ll do it again with UMPC. Sony had ultramobile Vaio U in the market for a few years already and now they plan to release Origami spec’ed Sony Vaio UX using Windows XP Pro.

According to Mobility Today Sony UX will have:

7″ touch screen
SLiding QWERTY Keyboard
Intel Core Solo Chip
WAN, Wi Fi, Bluetooth, 3G
Two cameras
Windows XP Pro
HDMI Port

However it is rather strange that Sony is not using Tablet PC OS on Vaio UX UMPC. Decision not to put a Touch Pack software on Ultramobile PCs can be understood and has already been done for ECS H70 UMPC. This software does not bring very significant improvements to Touch Screen optimized Tablet PC OS and if there are some additional costs involved some vendors might just drop it. Especially when they do not really need Microsoft marketing muscle behind them.

But why have a touch screen on a Windows based Ultramobile PC and forgo all the improvements that Touch and Pen optimized Tablet PC OS gives over standard Win XP Pro?

Update: Well, Sony has officially announced Vaio UX PC. And it is not Origami. In fact it is not even UMPC. Sony Vaio UX is 4.5″ Pocket PC with full PC functionality running Intel Core Solo and Win XP Pro. There’s even version of Sony VAIO UX running Linux.

Name of Product: Certain AC Adaptors sold with slim version PlayStation® 2 Systems

Units: About 843,000

Importer: Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc., of Foster City, Calif.

Hazard: The recalled AC adaptors can overheat and melt. This poses the risk of fire, burn and shock injuries to consumers.

Incidents/Injuries: Sony Computer Entertainment America has received 38 reports of adaptors overheating, including 19 reports of melting. There have been four reports of minor property damage, two reports of minor burns and one report of a minor shock.

Description: The recall involves AC adaptors with the following date codes: 2004.08, 2004.09, 2004.10, 2004.11 and 2004.12 and serial numbers beginning with "F3". The date code is located in a white box on the lower right hand portion of the adaptor's label. Just below the date code box is a serial number beginning with "F3" followed by a series of digits. Adaptors with other date codes and without the "F3" serial numbers are not included in this recall. The AC adaptors were sold with slim version PlayStation® 2 consoles with model number SCPH-70011 or SCPH-70012. The PlayStation® 2 model number is located on a label at the base of the slim console.

Sold at: Electronics, toy and computer game stores nationwide, as well as Web retailers, from October 2004 through August 2005 for about $150 for the complete system.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the recalled AC adaptors immediately and contact Sony Computer Entertainment America to receive a free replacement adaptor. Consumers should carefully unplug the recalled adaptors from the wall outlet and allow to cool before handling.

Also featured is Deep Power Down Technology that turns off processing components such as core clocks and cache memory when the laptop is idle for greater energy savings.

Intel also unveiled its Mobile Intel® 45 Express Chipset and wireless Intel® Wi-Fi Link 5000 series that is shipping to customers now, with laptops arriving later in July and August. Delivering five times the speed and twice the range of older 802.11a/g technology, the Intel Wi-Fi Link 5000 series provides 802.11 draft-N support that delivers the fastest data rates possible today -- up to 450 Mbps.

Switchable graphics, a new optional power-saving feature available on Intel Centrino 2-based notebooks, provides both integrated and discrete graphics on a single notebook, enabling users to easily switch between the two options. Switchable graphics delivers greater 3-D performance when needed while providing the option for greater power savings for the best of both worlds.

For consumers, Intel Centrino 2 processor technology delivers the horsepower and battery life to enjoy a typical full-length, Blu-ray* high-definition video on a single battery charge for the first time, plus the ability to play a variety of online games, download music or post videos faster than before.

WiMAX Momentum

This Multi-Platform Portable Gaming Entertainment Station is the best mobile device which that I cannot believe see the size of this device can do many thing beyond your eyes and why I said that? Because I can storage many games inside 4GB memory are huge and very benefit compare to DS or PSP which you have to carry game separate from system which you have to carry more than one items. The battery are excellent! This device have great quality sound equal to Ipod with earphone. This device have Equalizer build in which you can adjust it for your prefer and have 3D sound make you feel like have surround sound. And, there is a very healthy Dingoo community that supports this device from games to various firmware enhancements. I highly recommend this to everyone!
